On this present recording pianist Sabine Weyer plays concerts for piano and strings by Johann Sebastian Bach and the young Felix Mendelssohn. The music of the Thomaskantor played a great role in the life of Mendelssohn, in particular in his lessons with Carl Friedrich Zelter. As a result one can hear Bach's influence on the youthful genius.
