The lively and rich musical culture of the German High Baroque was shaped by many composers who have been partially or even completely forgotten today. However, this is often due more to chance than to the quality of the music. Astrid Knöchlein and her ensemble have searched archives and libraries for such forgotten gems of German baroque music and present a selection of oboe and recorder sonatas on historical instruments in this recording - quite a few of them in world premiere recordings!
