This SACD includes four concertos for cello and orchestra by Luigi Boccherini. They are the most well known among Boccherini’s twelve cello concertos (G.479, G.480, G.482, G.483) and they have been recorded in the less usual original version. The Swiss-Taiwanese cellist Wen-Sinn Yang, has made many soloist appearances amongst others with the well known Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Lorin Maazel. He performs with plenty of musicality and clean technique. The South Tyrolean orchestra called String Academy Bozen, includes excellent soloists from Austria, Germany and Italy and it is conducted by its leader, the violinist Georg Egger. A fresh, alive and wonderful performance that can match all expectations and all comparisons. The exceptional qualities of the recording can be fully appreciated in SACD format.
