Originally we had planned for this SACD to be Eldbjorg Hemsing's recording debut, but the repertoire (Borgström, Shostakovich) interest in what ultimately did become her debut swayed us and we changed the planning accordingly. Rarely has a recording debut had the impact of that other record (BIS-2366 SACD) and Eldbjorghas been catapulted to international awareness in a very short time. Here we have more standard repertoire, no less well played and beautifully accompanied by the Antwerp SO (formerly the Royal Flemish Philharmonic) under Alan Buribayev. Self-recommending and the second record in a projected long series.
