For its third CD on BAYER RECORDS, the Calmus Ensemble has put together a program dedicated entirely to musical heartbreak. Songs, songs and madrigals can be heard, some written especially for the ensemble (such as Gordon Kampe's love-drunk Ronsard setting Je deviens fou...) or newly arranged for the project (such as Philip Lawson's arrangement of the title piece Liebesleid by Fritz Kreisler). The current line-up of the Calmus Ensemble, which developed between 2020 and 2022, also demonstrates the intended continuity in terms of high quality standards and proven repertoire in this recording and guarantees us continued vocal artistry in perfection for the coming years.
