The Carus Classics series features outstanding CD productions from Carus’ past library of recordings. The series has been designed exclusively by the well-known graphic artists Friedrich Forssman und Cornelia Feyll.
In the works introduced here, Schubert presented vocal chamber music to an independent genre. The male voice ensemble Schubert hoch vier – consisting of four internationally renowned Lied singers – together with the Schubert specialist Thomas Seyboldt at the piano present this little regarded group of works with a masterful balance between ensemble spirit and soloistic expressivity.
