Around four hundred years ago, the region of Dithmarschen was a thriving centre of art and culture. This location was the starting point of the impressive career of Thomas Selle who was considered one of the major composers of his time alongside Schütz, Schein and Scheidt.Monika Madelartz has devoted herself to an intensive study of the sources, examining, arranging and recording works from the composer’s early original manuscripts. The selected compositions have been recorded for the very first time and provide a genuine enrichment to the repertoire.
