Respighi wrote beautiful works from a young age. The works on this album are seldom performed or recorded, but certainly deserve to be. As would one would expect from Respighi, these works are full of tuneful molodies.

Born and raised in Foggia, Italy, Antonio Pompa-Baldi won the Cleveland International Piano Competion in 1999 and embarked on a career that continues to extend across five continents. He also won top prizes at the 1998 Margurite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competion of Paris, and the 2001 Van Clivern International Piano Competition. Mr. Pompa-Baldi performs regularly at the world's major concert venues. He has recorded extensively for Cenatur Records, including the complete piano works of Grieg over twelve volumes.
