Eda records launched the highly acclaimed "Poland Abroad" series in 2004 in cooperation with Deutschlandradio Kultur following a festival that the Konzerthaus Berlin devoted to the neighboring country of Poland on the occasion of the eastern enlargement of the EU. At the center of this extensive eda co-curated presentation were composers, who had little or no attention in the international musical life, due to the political circumstances (during the division of Poland, during the Nazi occupation and the subsequent communist yoke) Exiled or persecuted, some of whom survived the war and the Holocaust under dramatic circumstances. It presents compositions of all genres - opera, ballet, symphony, concerts and chamber music. The aim is to emphasize the outstanding quality of this neglected repertoire in reference works and to encourage them to deal with a central aspect of the cultural history (not only of the 20th century), transculturality and transnationality.
