Friedrich Theodor Fröhlich (1803-1836), who went unnoticed for a long time, is today regarded as the most important Swiss composer of the early Romantic period. He left behind a large number of musical manuscripts which disappeared into private ownership and were soon forgotten, although most of them have been preserved. Today, his works are increasingly being rediscovered and made accessible to listeners.
