The musicians of the Gropius Quartet follow the example of Walter Gropius and, like him, have their creative center in Berlin and Weimar. Influenced by personal encounters with Yehudi Menuhin and Mstislav Rostropovich, the Gropius Quartet has set itself the goal of working out the clear structure of the composition and bringing it to life with passionate playing. The members of the Gropius Quartet have known each other since studying together at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad and the Juilliard School in New York.
