Alto Saxophonist Perico Sambeat is considered one of the greatest Jazz musicians in Spain. He has earned an enormous prestige for his extraordinary professional career, both inside and outside Spain. With more than twenty albums as leader and more than a hundred as accompanist, he has worked with great figures such as Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tete Montoliu, Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny and a long etcetera.
With more than 20 years of professional career, Perico Sambeat is the Spanish saxophonist with the greatest international projection. With a strong classical base, he began his studies of modern music at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona where he had schoolmasters of the standing of Zé Eduardo. In 1991 he moved to New York where he entered the New School. There he played with teachers such as Lee Konitz, Jimmy Cobb and Joe Chambers.
