The Salley Gardens (arr. Benjamin Britten)
A journey through this distinctive musical genre, performed by some of the finest former members of the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge with one of this generation’s most exceptional pianists.

Each of the nine alumni featured on this album sang as young adults at King’s, alongside accompanist Simon Lepper, a graduate of King’s. The songs included span settings of Shakespeare songs, those of prominent 20th Century composers Vaughan Williams, Britten, Finzi and Howells through contemporary works by the likes of Jonathan Dove, Celia Harper and Iain Bell.

Recorded at 192kHz 24-bit PCM at All Saint’s Church, East Finchley, London, on 29 October 2019 and 10 February 2020.
