The year 2020 should have been a memorable year for ensemble la Primavera with the celebration of our 25 years jubilee. How many music ensembles can be proud of having achieved such a milestone and, in full maturity, reinvent in every performance the late Renaissance and seventeenth-century baroque repertoire?

The CD repertoire’s choice is a clear indication of the predominance of Italian and Spanish seventeenth-century baroque in the performances of the ensemble’s latest decade: the Italian repertoire with the emphasis on the melodic line and the expressive interpretation of the poetic text and the Spanish counterpart where the rhythmic aspect seems to dominate and lead the musical form. The expressive qualities of this music, its freedom of form and the experimentalism of a new musical language, reflect and are part of a general development also shared by the visual arts and architecture of this period, which led to many important and inspirational works for future generations.

Primavera Amorosa is above all the story of a friendship between the members of La Primavera, with the shared feelings, companionship and mutual admiration that come with a long collaboration. Therefore, it is our most ardent wish to share with you the great love we have for this music and our profession, as well as the enjoyment and gratitude for playing together for so many beautiful years.
