Holenderski dyrygent, organista i klawesynista Ton Koopman jest jednym z najbardziej znanych i najważniejszych przedstawicieli, wręcz jednym z pionierów, wykonawstwa muzyki dawnej. Jego liczne nagrania muzyki bachowskiej – zarówno klawesynowej, jak i wokalno-instrumentalnej – należą do „klasyki gatunku”. Teraz, po wielu latach, prezentuje nam solowe suity kantora z Lipska z jego pierwszej części Clavier Übung. Nagrania dokonał w małej kaplicy z XV wieku w Amsterdamie. To nie jest bez znaczenia. W małej przestrzeni obcując z jednym instrumentem i geniuszem twórcy solowych partit Koopman zaprezentował nam kunszt nie tylko techniczny. Jego ogromne doświadczenie pozwoliło na zbudowanie takiej interpretacji, która ani na chwilę nie traci z oczu całości dzieła. Swoboda, dojrzałość, precyzja, kunszt … to wyjątkowa płyta.
