Born in Florence violinist and composer Giovanni Buonaventura Viviani (1638-1692) was a member of the Imperial Chapel since 1656 and from 1672 to 1676 he headed the imperial court music in Innsbruck. The CD presents this important representative of the Italian High Baroque with a selection from his Salmi, Motetti e Litanie Op.5 and his Capricci armonici Op.4. It is also the first time that Viviani is thereby recognized as a vocal composer. The excellent recording cast - including Gottfried von der Goltz (baroque violin) - ensures unclouded joy of discovery.

Recording: Innsbruck, Kirche das Priesterseminaries der Diozesen Innsbruck und Feldkirch, 06/2014
