Extensive booklet notes by Mark Everist probe into the intricacies of performance practice as well as analysing the music and poetry in context. Prezentowana płyta stanowi pierwszą część projektu, który w założeniu obejmuje jeszcze wydanie dwóch kolejnych albumów. Projekt ma na celu przybliżenie i ukazanie w możliwie wiernym historycznie stylu muzyki i poezji XII i XIII wieku. Repertuar dość hermetyczny, ale merytoryczne podejście muzykologów i muzyków nadaje temu projektowi rangę niezwykłą. Muzycy – wokaliści odczytują zapis tej muzyki z faksymile oryginalnych rękopisów, a biorąc pod uwagę ówczesny zapis muzyczny nabiera się do całości jeszcze większego szacunku. Ten album to prezentacja różnych conducti – jednych z pierwszych form muzyki polifonicznej jaka zaistniała w muzyce europejskiej, a która do tej pory w nagraniach pozostawała w cieniu choćby twórczości motetowej. W dołączonej książeczce możemy przeczytać o zawiłości tej praktyki muzycznej, o analizie kontekstu muzyczno-poetyckiego. Jest to ważny dokument historyczny, jak również muzyczny. Nie łatwy i przyjemny, ale wart poznania i posłuchania. Tym bardziej w tak mistrzowskim wykonaniu.
