The Syrian singer Dima Orsho has recorded lullabies of different provenance for DREYER-GAIDO. In addition to traditional songs from her homeland, her own compositions as well as Aramaic and Azerbaijani songs can be heard - even a work by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla is included. Her selection of Hidwas (lullabies) is both moving and intuitive. All pieces are strongly influenced by the charismatic artist, not only by her unique singing, but also by her way of composing and arranging. The songs awaken emotions that are familiar to all of us: Motherly love, care and protective instinct.
