Tilman Skowroneck studied with Bob van Asperen, Ton Koopman and Gustav Leonhardt, among others. In 1991 he was engaged as harpsichordist and fortepianist in the newly founded Swedish baroque group Corona Artis. Contacts with the music academy in Gothenburg and the organ center GOArt led him to study musicology in 1996. In 1999, he studied fortepiano and performance practice with Malcolm Bilson (Cornell University). His book Beethoven the Pianist was published 2010 by Cambridge University Press. He is Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg.
For TYXART he has recorded a selection of three ordres from the first and second books of François Couperin's Pieces de Clavecin, introduced in style by one of the preludes from his L'Art de Toucher le Clavecin.
Recording: Ödenäs Kyrka/Sweden, 2020.
