This Tchaikovsky album is the first album of a complete Tchaikovsky Symphonies cycle. This is NOT “yet another recording of the 4th Symphony”. It is correct that there are already many versions available and Pletnev and that the RNO have recorded the Tchaikovskt symphonies before for Deutsche Gramophone. However the new interpretation is totally different from Pletnev’s previous recording, so we recommend to listen carefully and compare. You will find out that this new version is fresh as well as hypnotising and stands out amongst the already available recordings.
